2024 - Year In Review
Dec 29, 2024
It's that time of the year again when we look back at the most popular blog posts of 2024. As we head towards 2025 I identify the most-read blog posts that educated and inspired you while providing food for thought throughout the year. It's always interesting to see which posts resonate with my readers. Do the top 5 blog posts of 2024 strike a chord with you too?
5. Pilates - Little & Often For Pain-Free Living
The concept of practicing Pilates in small manageable sessions rather than the pre-pandemic model of 1 hour sessions proved to be enormously appealing to many readers, especially chronic pain sufferers. A Pilates session can be 5, 10, 15, 20, or more minutes long, depending on your individual needs. You won't be pushing through pain and fatigue as the goal is to become pain-free not to increase your pain levels. Makes sense, doesn't it? As someone who manages chronic fatigue syndrome, it works for me and I've seen shorter sessions transform the lives of so many of my clients. If this appeals to you read my full blog post here
4. Are You Getting Enough Protein?
Growing up a vegetarian surrounded by avid meat-eaters, my diet was lacking in protein. There was little awareness during that era about the importance of protein in our diets which prompted me to do a lot of research about a balanced diet as an adult. My blog post looks at the importance of ensuring you have an adequate protein intake and the signs and symptoms to look for if you need to increase your levels. One of the functions is to maintain muscle mass which is crucial as we age. To calculate if you are having sufficient protein each day read my full post here. Adequate protein levels could be the missing link you are searching for.
3. 5 Things To Maintain For Successful Ageing
Ageing well is something you will aspire to if you read my blog posts and practical advice about achieving this is very popular. Your retirement years can be some of the best years of your life if you take steps to prepare for success. Many of my retired clients enjoy active travel adventures around the world, including skiing, hiking, and experiencing new cultures. Others are active grandparents who can spend quality time creating memories with their grandchildren. The first thing you need to maintain is your muscle mass which is the difference between pain-filled later years and living a fun-filled active life. To ensure you are maintaining all 5 things for successful ageing read my original post here
2. Dreams Do Come True
The second most-read blog post of the year is about dreams. As a child, I dreamed of seeing my" name in lights" on Broadway as I put on " dance shows" with my sister and neighbourhood kids. While that never happened, my dream of seeing "my name in lights" on a billboard on Broadway, Times Square, New York City, came true, this year - which is incredibly exciting! I wasn't featured on the billboard for a dance production, but my book MOVE FREE FROM PAIN was the star. which is all about helping others overcome pain and achieve their own precious dreams through Pilates.
"You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream" C.S Lewis
This post is a reminder to never give up on your dreams and my book contains many true stories of my clients who overcame their pain through Pilates and went on to achieve their dreams - which in many cases they thought was impossible. If you are in pain and unsure what your future holds or just need some inspiration, this post is for you. You can see the video of my book on the billboard above!
